Bundt? What is this...? Well to cite an American English dictionary this is a term, predominantly used in North America, to describe a cake pan having a tube in the centre and scalloped sides. So one may guess that this is a recipe book about making cakes for entertaining in Bundt tins, and one may be right!
Published by Nordic Ware, a respected manufacturer of cookware sold predominantly in the United States, one could view this book as a living promotional guide but it is a lot more than a humble brochure.
As a European reviewer who has marvelled at the range of various shaped cake tins available "over there", the whole bundt baking thing seemed strange due to the sheer unfamiliarity of it all. So this book is a rather good introduction to this (apparent) staple cake form and shows just some of the things that one can do with a little bit of effort.
The only problem might be that many of the nice tins are rather heavy and the tins are not available in Europe (yet) so be prepared for some expensive international shipping if one wants to pursue this particular baking avenue. Don't let this put you off though! A good bundt pan or tin (one can use the term interchangeably) is very versatile and can last a very long time.
The book begins with a concise tutorial in the form of hints and tips about how one should prepare the bundt pan, baking techniques, adjusting recipes to fit an individual pan and so forth, before one is treated to a tremendous amount of different cake recipes that show how a few pans, different ingredients and a bit of inspiration can make a world of difference. As one may expect, the book is written for a North American audience so there may be an element of conversion and localisation required, but this is worth the effort when you see the results.

This book lacked information about bundt pan sizes - 10 cup? 12 cup? These cup sizes matter. Beautifully illustrated, however.
