Fantastic book
By laurenkjo
This is a great neuroanatomy book with pictures and a well-organized, logical design. Not only does it slowly go through the intro chapter, giving you a brief overview, but with each chapter gets in depth about the spinal cord, parts of the brain etc. The clinical gems it includes in the little boxes are great as well, with pictures showing exactly where the motor and sensory deficits are, as well as any gain or loss of reflexes.

Good pictures, but a little sparse
By A. Gift For You
This is a decent buy. It helped me get an A- on my last test. The online thing is worthless. IT is just a copy of the book put online, without review or help, etc. I think that the pictures will be helpful to any medical student, but the text is rather sparse, and weird medical words and anatomical terms are used since this is a British book. They will call many things peculiar names, and also spell everything different. But still a decent buy.

Great for Step 1 review
By RobertMD
if you find yourself weak on neuro, then I definitely recommend this textbook as a way of reinforcing concepts. It has lots of diagrams and clear explanations that will help you overcome the intrincacies of neuroanatomy in a short time.

No Man's Land (John Puller Series), by David Baldacci

Special Agent John Puller, combat veteran and the army's most tenacious investigator, is back in this action-packed thriller from worldwide #1 bestselling author David Baldacci.

NO MAN'S LAND

Two men. Thirty years.

John Puller's mother, Jackie, vanished thirty years ago from Fort Monroe, Virginia, when Puller was just a boy. Paul Rogers has been in prison for ten years. But twenty years before that, he was at Fort Monroe. One night three decades ago, Puller's and Rogers' worlds collided with devastating results, and the truth has been buried ever since.

Until now.

Military investigators, armed with a letter from a friend of Jackie's, arrive in the hospital room of Puller's father--a legendary three-star now sinking into dementia--and reveal that Puller Sr. has been accused of murdering Jackie.

Aided by his brother Robert Puller, an Air Force major, and Veronica Knox, who works for a shadowy U.S. intelligence organization, Puller begins a journey that will take him into his own past, to find the truth about his mother.

Paul Rogers' time is running out. With the clock ticking, he begins his own journey, one that will take him across the country to the place where all his troubles began: a mysterious building on the grounds of Fort Monroe. There, thirty years ago, the man Rogers had once been vanished too, and was replaced with a monster. And now the monster wants revenge. And the only person standing in his way is John Puller.

I can say without a doubt this is the best of the series
By TUCSON ROBERT
NO MAN’S LAND is David Baldacci’s fourth book in his very successful John Puller series. I can say without a doubt this is the best of the series. Two parallel stories keep the reader’s interest through the first half, merging seamlessly by the middle of the book.
Thirty years ago when John Puller and his older brother, Robert, were young boys when their charming and beautiful mother mysteriously disappeared one evening from the Ft. Monroe, VA army post. The army investigated but not a single clue to her disappearance was ever found. Thirty years later, a friend and neighbor at the time who was now dying of cancer, wrote a letter to the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division accusing the father, Fighting John Puller Sr., a retired 3-star army general, of murdering his wife. Aging Puller Sr. presently resides in a nursing home suffering from deteriorating mental and physical health.
Miles away a convicted killer, Paul Rogers, is released from a federal prison having served ten years for murder. Within hours after his release he kills two young people who had been harassing him. This sets Rogers on a rampaging cross-country voyage and more killings. Rogers knows where he is headed and nothing will deter him from achieving his long-awaited and final goal. For Rogers, payback time is only days away.
Meanwhile, Chief Warrant Officer John Puller, teaming up with his older brother, Air Force Colonel Robert Puller, for intelligence information, is on a mission to learn what happened to his mother and to clear his father’s good name. Puller also gets help from fellow CID sidekick and sometimes girlfriend, Veronica Knox.
Baldacci is a terrific writer. He skillfully develops his prime characters and injects exciting secondary players who add spice to the story. This is the best of Baldacci. There is not a weak page of narration or dialogue in this book. I give No Man’s Land a top rating of 5+ stars. It’s a winner.

Next Generation Super Soldiers and Murder Mystery wrapped up in one
By William D. Curnutt
John Puller is a serious detective with the Army's Criminal Investigation Agency. He does superb work and always gets his man. But there is one case that he has really never looked into and that is the case of his own mothers disappearance 30 years previous. He was just a young boy when his mom disappeared and he has never really thought about solving the crime.

But when someone comes forward to accuse his father of killing his mother that gets his interest. He doesn't want to see his father's reputation destroyed and besides he can't believe that his father would kill his mother.

This sets him on a course of investigation that leads to a serial murder, Department of Defense experimental science and possibly a meltdown in his own views of his father, who wasn't where he said he was the night that John's mother disappeared.

The most interesting part of the novel is the details regarding Liquid Armour, Ekoskeletions and synthetic skin. Further there was an experiment to make a super soldier, one that couldn't feel pain and one that didn't fear combat. Did that really happen? If so, is there a connection to John's family and his mothers disappearance?

The technology as well as the mystery makes for a very entertaining and enlightening novel. I ended up after the novel doing some online searches for DoD science experiments and want to find out more about these new technologies. Where is robotics and computer enhanced medicine taking us?

Enjoy the novel. Baldacci is a master story teller.

Reality check needed when Baldacci ventures into "No Man's Land"
By Suncoast
Please note that this is the first Amazon Review for this book from someone who has actually purchased it - not a "Vine Customer Review of Free Product". I read the book because it was published in Australia on 25 October 2016 but surprisingly it won't be released in the US until 15 November 2016.

There are two stories, both of which started nearly thirty years ago.

John Puller's mother disappeared mysteriously then and despite an intensive search and investigation, she was never seen again. New evidence has just come to light that Puller's father, now a retired 3 star General suffering dementia, had secretly come home to Fort Monroe from overseas on the day his wife disappeared and is now a suspect in her disappearance.

John Puller is now a crack CID investigator with the Army and would be officially barred from working the case and face a court-martial if he disobeys orders. It is not in his nature to do nothing in a case affecting him and his family. When intelligence operative Veronica Knox, his old "friend" and ally on other cases turns up he knows that the case has far more ramifications than he realised.

Also thirty years ago something terrible happened to Paul Rogers which changed his life forever. As part of a top-secret project, based in Building Q of Fort Monroe, his body was altered to give him extreme strength, and resilience to pain so that he could perform superhuman tasks, including killing without any conscience. Rogers has just spent the last 10 years in jail for murder and with his parole determines to seek out and deliver vengeance to those who were responsible for his condition.

The stories involve huge coverups at the highest level which are continuing to the present day. Puller and Knox get pulled into the middle of this highly sensitive arena while Rogers is trying to hunt down the people who harmed him so long ago. Baldacci carefully weaves together the stories until they converge.

I have read most of Baldacci's books and enjoy his writing. But this time I think he has stepped too far out of reality to get a top rating. You certainly need a need a reality check to enjoy some of the fantasy that Baldacci has created. IMHO the book has also been poorly edited as there are a lot of things that happen, especially at very high levels of government, that are not explained by the end of the book - maybe a consequence of meeting tough publication deadlines. In previous books in the John Puller series, there was an interesting personal relationship between Puller and Knox which was hardly an issue in this one.
